Day 4: War death toll tops 1,800 as Hamas attacks Israeli city of Ashkelon after warning residents to leave

An Israeli military official reported that the death toll resulting from Hamas’ unexpected attack over the weekend has now surpassed 1,000 casualties.

The health ministry in Gaza reported that the retaliatory air strikes conducted by Israel resulted in the loss of 830 lives and left 4,250 individuals injured. These airstrikes escalated significantly on Tuesday night, causing the ground to tremble and filling the sky with additional plumes of smoke and flames.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a warning, stating that Israel’s military campaign, which began in response to a surprise attack on Saturday, marks the beginning of an ongoing effort to dismantle Hamas and bring about change in the Middle East.
